About me ---- i have made and sold many fabric post cards in galleries and gift shops throughout new england, and also in the texas national quilt museum. I love to send out cute cards to friends for surprises and special days, and just because. I also make post cards from recycled paper ephemera, stickers, etc. i am also a member of a fb group that sends cards and fabric postcards to veterans, thanking them for their service, as well as milestone birthdays! I think it's nice to get a little "happy mail" once in a while, instead of bills and junk mail.
Hobbies (obsessions) -- i love to grow flowers, herbs, vegetables. I have been a lifelong gardener, it never gets old lol. I rarely eat meat, mostly vegs, soups and salads, pastas, along with tea and coffee too. I do enjoy the fresh and best seafood in the country right here along the coast of new england. I love to cook, especially crockpot recipes, soups, any kind of pasta, and "farm to table" meals. I have a rather large cookbook collection as well. As for tv, i don't watch much -- food channel shows, joanna gaines, and hallmark movies in december! (hot cocoa in hand, scented candles burning).
I am a big-time dog-mom, i love to sew dog items, bows, and bandanas to sell and donate the money to help shelter animals. I had 4 labradors in the past, and now i have a newly adopted pittie pup who rules the house! Adopt, don't shop I say! Once i fully retire i hope to adopt one or two more.
I sew and quilt, and now i found postcards and notecard swaps, a new passion of mine! I am still new at this, but love the creativity it takes to turn recycled cardboard into cards, bookmarks, postcards, and other fun things. I am an avid reader, anything from classics to modern, and especially love a lot of women authors, and poetry such as maya angelou and mary oliver.
I love living in new england, with so much variety and culture and food! i can travel by car 6 hrs in any direction, and be at the top of the tallest mountain in new hampshire or the coast of maine eating at a clam shack, or the middle of new york city for a broadway show. I love road tripping on long weekends, especially along the coast and places that are dog-friendly. I spend a lot of long weekends up at cape cod, it feels like my spiritual home.
I have visited almost all the states in the U.S throughout the years, but am hoping one day to cross-country drive, and even make it to alaska. i love the wildlife, mountains, and wide open spaces.
My personal tastes lean towards autumn and winter landscapes, celtic music and songs, rock music of all kinds, and indie, angels, foxes, dogs and wolves, moose, birds, whales, mushrooms, gardens of any kind, also the beach and oceans --I do not like steampunk style or superhero themes, anything overly religious, childish, or violent, or abusive.
Thanks for checking my profile, still a newbie learing as i go, if something is wrong or you didnt receive a swap let me know, as i will always send and give a good rating too! Thanks!
