I'm a married 30-something geek, adventurer, artist, writer, cat whisperer, photographer, wine drinker, bookworm, concert goer, blogger, bass player, gamer, sci-fi fangirl with strong goth tendencies.
I'm an artist, and love trying new things - so paper, magazine cutouts, embelishments, washi tapes, cute paperclips, stickers, stamps, pens, markers, watercolors and other art supplies are my favorite things to receive. I also love to swap art with other artists!
I don't really have a favorite color - I love color! Especially unusual, super creative uses of color. I do find myself leaning toward black, purple and aqua most often though.
I love travel! I've been to 18 countries so far - and 32 US States - which is barely a start to seeing the world - but I've learned and grown so much from my travels. I hope to see lots more.
Fantasy and science fiction for the most part, but I like a good bio sometimes too, especially about artists or musicians. Admittedly totally smitten with some of the fandom book series - Sarah J Maas, Cassandra Clare, etc. And I'm not even sorry. I also like Brandon Sanderson, Maria Snyder, Marie Lu, Neil Gaiman, Jim Butcher, Orson Scott Card, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clarke, and loads more.
There's a link to my goodreads profile up there under the "My Links" link. Feel free to add me as a friend! :)
Music is one of my favorite things about life. Especially live music. 80's new/darkwave, goth, edm, singer/songwriter, metal... I can nearly always find something I like in any genre.
Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Firefly, Supernatural, Buffy the Vampire Slayer... Recently obsessed with The Orville, as well. My husband and I have cosplayed Doctor Who, Star Trek and Marvel characters at multiple conventions and it's something we really love.
Chalk board design, surreal design, cats, (love all the kitties!) henna/zentangle, flowers, bats, old photos, vintage books, book illustrations - esp botanical or anatomical, letterpress, bookmarks, vintage robots, enamel pins, the paranormal, buddhism, and pretty much anything you would call "gothic" or "witchy." I also love essential oils and natural body products/makeup.
I'm pretty easy to please. And I rate 5's as long as the items I receive meet swap requirements, arrive on time, (or swapper has communicated if late) and look like at least a little effort was put in. That said, I'm not a fan of clowns, religious themed items, anything political or hateful, pages torn from notepads, food items (tea/coffee is ok!) or children's items.
My social links are all up there under the website link, but you can find me on Instagram most often as @jenidleman and @jendrawsthings
If you didn't receive a swap from me, please let me know and give me the chance to re-send. I always mail on the day I mark as sent, so if you don't receive it, it's gotten lost and I'm happy to try again. :)

When you're struggling with something look at all the people around you and realize every single person you see is struggling with something and to them it's just as hard as what you're going through- Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
Book Quote - August โThe water moves on, a little faster than before, yet still the great river flows. It is as fluid and unpredictable in its moods as it has ever been, but it meanders within familiar banks.โ - William Dalrymple, Nine Lives
Book quote August
'I'm perfect', she whispered, though she knew it was a lie. But she was good at faking happiness. So good she'd fooled herself for six years.
-The Boy I Hate by Taylor Sullivan
It's one of my favourite novels about love and trying to find happiness.
Thank you for joining my one stamp wonders swap...
