About Me

Hello, everyone! Thank you for visiting my profile! :D

My name is Paloma Miranda and I'm 32 years old. I'm a married woman, with no children. We have 3 dogs, 1 cat and a cockatiel, all adopted. They are my world! I live in Brazil and I love to swap around the world. I swap all kinds of material that can be sent by mail. I have been writing letters since 2005, but I started doing international exchanges a few years ago.

Note: I send correspondence within the deadline, however, the stamps may be from different dates, as the cargo may be sent on another day within the post office. International shipments can take up to a month to arrive (if there is no holiday in between). If you do not receive it, please send me a message or email. I'm new to this site, but I have been doing international exchanges for some time.

I'm a cisgender woman, but that doesn't make me blind to the social problems that surround us in terms of gender, color and lifestyle. My husband and I support causes such as women's rights, the rights of black people, indigenous people and immigrants. We also support the animal cause, raising awareness about abandonment and mistreatment as well as the trafficking of wild animals. I don't believe in the “perfect family in God's eyes”. It is undeniable that we are in the midst of a new wave of fascism around the world. This only makes me believe that society has forgotten the mistakes we made in the past.

When I write letters, I like to learn about another country's customs and habits, legends, food, music, cartoons and movies. I'm looking for someone who approaches life with intelligence and empathy. Who are questioning (and not afraid of the answer) when it comes to traditions, enlightened when it comes to prejudices and who understand that in a friendship there may be disagreements, but respect must prevail, despite the opposing ideas we may have. I like to talk about the present and routine, but not just that. It's important to have space to talk. I avoid people who are religious fanatics, and I'm actually a bit scared of people who are rude and unyielding.

In English, I find it difficult to express myself in the same way as in my mother tongue, and I believe this happens to everyone who learns other languages. I apologize if anything is weird, I've been trying hard to learn more words and enrich my vocabulary. I don't know much about slang and abbreviations.

Below I'll write about what I like, but don't get hung up on that. I'm an easy person to please, anything can become a treasure for me. Remember: I'm happy to be present on this beautiful planet at the same time as you, that's fantastic!

What I watch and listen to:

My favorite movie is Moulin Rouge, released in 2001. I have great memories of this movie from when I was a teenager. I love musicals, horror and suspense movies. When I was younger, I loved watching Bruce Willis movies too. Here in Brazil, we watch a lot of American films, but I also love Brazilian cinema. My favorite Brazilian film is “Saneamento Básico" (Basic Sanitation), released in 2007. I've ventured out and watched German, Thai, Japanese, Finnish, Norwegian, Canadian, Argentinian and Polish films. It's been nice to see something different. As for music, I listen to everything. I like classic rock, blues, jazz, samba, MPB, funk, trap and country music (in Brazil called Sertanejo). It's hard to name favorite bands, because I usually listen to a few songs rather than whole albums. In terms of themes, I love Vampire stories. I was a teenager who was fascinated by the books by Anne Rice and Álvares de Azevedo. I remember watching the movie “Queen of the Damned” (2002) dozens of times and I still love it! This reminds me that I also love playing RPGs, I spent years playing a Tremere in the World of Darkness universe.
