To me it is fascinating to learn about goddesses from different mythologies and corners of the world. Brigid is a Celtic goddess that is associated with fire and spring and considered patroness of poets. In Greek mythology Gaia is the personification of the Earth as a goddess, mother of all life. Oya is a powerful African goddess, the goddess of the winds who brings change and transformation. I love learning about different goddesses, what they stand for, and the wisdom they can bring to our lives.

For this international swap you will create a little piece of art that represents your favorite goddess and tell your partner about her. On a nice piece of paper or postcard write about which mythology or part of the world your favorite goddess comes from, what she stands for and what it is that you find fascinating about her. Then, you also create a little piece of art for your partner that represents the goddess in some way. It is up to you if you want to make a drawing of the goddess, craft something with paper that shows what she stands for, if you want to sew or crochet. Get creative and send something from your heart that will give your partner an idea and a feeling for your favorite goddess. As this is an international swap, it is totally fine to make something that fits in a normal size envelope so that you don’t have to pay enormous postage. On the other hand, if you like to create a larger artwork and you are okay with higher postage, you can do that as well.

Please send your items on time. Rate your partner a 5 when you receive a handmade artwork together with a little letter or postcard about your partner’s favorite goddess.
