I'm a mom of two boys, ages 10 and 18. I'm a wife. I'm a teacher at our local alternative school. I'm an artist. A writer. A whole lot of things!

I love music with Middle Eastern sounds. I just downloaded Thievery Corporation's "The Forgotten People." Best song ever, because it's danceable as well!

I also love jazz, bluegrass, salsa, 50's country, blues, lounge, trance...lots of music!

Isabel Allende is my favorite author. Definitely. However, as a lifelong bookworm, I'll read just about anything!

I like kiddos movies the best, probably because I see them so often! Shrek is awesome.

I also tend to like films that are not products of Hollywood, such as Raise the Red Lantern and John Sayles "Men With Guns."

Anime favs are Grave of the Fireflies and Spirited Away.

Recently, I've enjoyed Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Kung Fu Hustle and Inside Man.

I love Netflix!

This is a difficult one! I jump right from one thing to another!

Lately, I've been making art dolls and stuffed cats wearing clothes. I've also been sewing totes and clothes for myself and my younger son.

I like to knit simple things, and crochet as well. I love crocheting flowers. I love yarn for its own sake...

My son and I are teaching ourselves how to draw. I'm having a blast making clay faces and painting them. Sometimes I weave things.

I also make jewelry, do mod podge and probably pretty much anything else you can think of... :-)

Here are some of the things I like...of course, I'm sure there are plenty of things that I like that I don't know that I like yet...

fabric...I collect all kinds! yarn...anything made with a bit of natural fiber pretty papers earrings junk to make stuff out of (I know, that's kinda broad...) circles flowers cats mod stuff ephemera sewing notions maps and other geography stuff sea glass old books new books markers acrylics paintbrushes and a whole bunch of other stuff, of course.
