Hello everyone, I’m Mickie, I’m 36 and I live in a village in the beautiful county of Derbyshire, England, UK.

I’m excited to get involved and look forward to some wonderful swaps with the Swap-Bot community.

I think it’s important to have three areas for hobbies: physical, learning, creative.

Physical

Nature is my natural go-to in my spare time and you can usually find me walking through fields or up and down hills, usually being watched intently by sheep and/or cows or, on one particularly favourite walk, alpacas.

On Wednesday evenings, I play on a netball team. It’s a new hobby for me and is making me a lot stronger and fitter. I’m loving it.

Learning

I hated school but loved university and it really kick-started my life-long ambition to learn new things. I love finding a new course on FutureLearn to delve into and learn new things.

I’m also a voracious reader and can often be found with my head in a book or listening to an audiobook when driving or walking. My favourite genre is psychological thrillers, but I’ll read anything that sounds interesting.

Travelling is the best way to expand your mind and I try to visit 3 or 4 new places each year, both within the UK and abroad. In 2024 I’ve been to Romania, Denmark, Sweden, and Yorkshire, England.

Creative

I love the arts and often go to the theatre to see plays and musicals.

Diamond painting is a new find that I’ve been enjoying and find relaxing. I also enjoy sewing, most home furnishings and gifts, and knitting.

My other interests include: letter writing; writing; photography; theatre; travelling. I have an unhealthy obsession with notecards and love swapping beautiful postcards. I enjoy hearing about people and learning about their lives, likes and dislikes, so don't be shy and write about whatever catches your interest or anything interesting about your hometown or somewhere you like to visit.

I speak both Spanish and English, so please write in either language.

I have a very eclectic taste in music and enjoy anything from classical to heavy metal to music of the musicals.

My overall favourite genre of books are psychological thrillers. I also enjoy reading the classics on occasion.

I've recently discovered diamond painting, which I am enjoying immensely.

Sewing is a common pasttime and I usually make home furnishings rather than clothes, but I hope to branch out into clothing soon.
