SWAP DETAIL - THIS IS A TYPE 3 SWAP (PACKAGE OR CRAFT)

Edited 8/29/2011 to change number of partners from 2 to 1.

This swap is all about fairs and festivals and creating a postcard with the picture you choose for the swap. This is the time of year you begin to see them cropping up all over the place - there are three in my immediate future, a pepper festival, our state fair and a renaissance festival. Which one shall I choose?

  • Take a photograph at a fair (state, county, art, food, etc.) or festival, making sure there are people in it or rides or anything that makes it clear that the picture was taken at a fair. Be as creative as you like or as simplistic, sender's choice.

  • The photo may be B&W, color, sepia, any method of your choosing so long your partner can tell what the photo is.

  • This must be a photo you took.

  • Create a postcard with your photo. This is very simple to do with card stock and spray adhesive, or heavy, high quality photo paper. I prefer them on card stock only because they're less likely to be shredded in the mail.

Having said that, please note in the comments section, whether you would prefer your postcard 'naked' as in no envelope, or if you would like the postcard mailed in an envelope.

  • You will have one(1) partner.

I would prefer my post card mailed in an envelope. That way there won't be any post office markings on the photo side. Also, I can then put it on my fridge and show it off without anything to mar up the picture. :-)

In New Orleans, we have a LOT of music festivals and Mardi Gras (of course). Am I correct in assuming a music festival would be okay?

Nnyla - absolutely!

@Nnyla - We're going to an art fair tomorrow and an Oktoberfest celebration, so I think I'll get some good shots for you. :-)

Great! Thanks! You can send mine any way you choose. I purchased more clear envelopes. Self-sealing. Yay! If you'd like I can send you some.
