Description:

This swap is for newbies (experienced ATC makers are still welcome too!). Having been a newbie I know it can be hard to find swaps where you are welcome so you can build up your ratings. So I occasionally host some swaps where newbies are welcome!

You will make 1 ATC for 1 partner. The theme is Button. If you are new to ATCs in general please know that just a sticker on a card is not enough. You must use embellishments (ribbon, gems, brads, eyelets, 3d items etc). You can use stamped images, cutout images, die cuts, printouts, and more but you must also use embellishments. The exception to embellishments is only if you have hand drawn/painted your entire ATC, put effort into it (this exception is only because some people who do ATCs do ONLY handdrawn/painted art).

You can decorate your ATC anyway you want as long as you include 1 BUTTON of some sort (again you can use pictures, die cuts, and other stuff too as long as it is in that shape).

ATCs are on a thick cardstock, chipboard, or cardboard backing, honestly your backing can be anything as long as it is cut to the correct size and is sturdy and not floppy. The size is 2.5 in by 3.5 in or 6.35cm x 8.89 cm

Please, please, please sign your cards and write your username clearly, also include the swap name! It helps people know who sent it and I have started posting a Flickr link to the picture of the ATC along with my rating so I need to know who sent it and for what swap!

You sign, date, put user name, and any other info you want on the back of your card. If you want to sign in the corner on the front you can it is your artwork most people do it on the back though.

Unrated newbies are welcome and if you have ratings you must have over 4.95. No recent 1's.

Above all have fun creating your swap!

1 button only or at least 1 button?

I'm so new at this that I have to ask what ATC stands for? By the description,it's like a scrapbooked card/tag of those dimensions. Can you use cardstock or must be thicker & sturdy like cardboard box so it cant flop around?L I've seen so many ATC swaps listed but haven't joined cause 'scared' heehee Might be a great one to start off with!

Artist Trading Card is what it stands for. I use a couple layers of card stock for mine (at least a background that the art goes on, and then I stick another piece with my info on the back). You don't want it to be too thick because a lot of people keep them in the three by three trading card sleeves. A google image search will help a lot. :)

What a beautiful ATC! Did you make that?

You can get ATC cards at Hobby Lobby relatively inexpensively, and the sleeves are sold there as well, very inexpensive. If you go to the notecard section (where you can make your own notecards), there's ATC size cards there for even less money than in the art section.
