Description:

For those of you who are new to the idea of altered t-shirts, I would suggest simply googling the term as I think it is easier to understand by seeing lots of images. There are tons of different ways that you can alter a t-shirt... more than I could ever hope to list here :) If you check out cutoutandkeep.net, they have some good projects on there (and a few of them are tutorials). There is also a book out now called "Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-Shirt." Request that your local library carry it! ;)

So here are the basics of the project: you hit up a thrift store and get a t-shirt in your partner's size. You check out your partner's profile and come up with some cool ideas of what to do to their shirt (try to fit it to their personality if you can). Then you get to work! You can cut it up, sew it back together, embroider it, bleach it, paint it, stencil it, put patches and buttons on it, add zippers, add pockets or pouches, cut off the sleeves, add a hood, make it a tube top, make it have spaghetti straps... the sky really is the limit here! Get creative and go wild here. Have fun with it. You'll have a full month after the sign-up deadline to work on this before mailing it to your partner. Please put some real effort into this and "wow" your partner :)

After partners have been assigned, make sure you find out what size shirt your partner needs! Part of what makes us so awesome is that we are a diverse group of people, so please make sure you are sending your partner a shirt that will actually fit them.

Leaving this open to all group members but I reserve the right to boot those who look sketchy or have really poor ratings... please don't be flakey! ;)

So excited with how my shirt came out! What about you guys? Anything snazzy happening? :)

Well, crap. Stupid Canadian postal strike means I can't mail my shirt to my partner because she lives in Canada. (I could mail it through a Global delivery service, but it would cost me $36.) Grrr!!!! On the upside, I just got a totally rad shirt from MsKadie!!!
