Number of swap partners:1
Description:

For this 30-day swap, you will fill in the first few boxes with tangles based on your real name and then your username, from the tangle pattern website. Zentangle your first name and then finish with your username (if your username has numbers in it, just doodle the number). For the middle boxes, just draw any tangle pattern.

To use my names MONIQUE/STICKERLADY as an example: In the first box on the sheet I would choose a tangle in the "M" section, the next day something from the "O" section, etc. Then I'd fill in the remaining boxes with tangles of my choice. I finish the remaining 11 boxes with my username tangles.

TO RECAP: From April 1 - April 30

  1. The first few boxes are tangles based on your first name.
  2. The 'middle' boxes are tangles of your choice.
  3. The remaining boxes are tangles based on your username.
  4. 30 boxes must be filled in.
  5. Do one tangle each day. Despite the fact that one could fill up the sheet in a few days, it's more fun to do one each day.
  6. Use the "Doodle-A-Day" sheet for this swap.
  7. You have five days to send it to your partner.

I'm sure more questions will pop up so just ask them in the comment boxes. I hope you have fun with this swap. Remember: feedback never hurts!

PS: Group survey - I'd like more than one partner for this swap as I think our creations should be revealed to many. I could either change the number of partners or make a special 30-day swapper website to showcase some of the swap results (this and future ones) from group members. Any thoughts about this? Please reply in the comment box. Thanks so very much.

I like the idea of being able to see what other people have done. Either or both would be great. If we end up sending copies of our originals, I don't mind having more than one partner. But we could see even more if we had a place to display them too.

I started a Flickr group called StickerLady's Swap Spotlight to showcase the swap-sheet results of those of which I am hosting. I uploaded my first 'very basic' Doodle-a-Day #1 swap there. If you'd like to join, just pm me for an invite.

I'm VERY new to Zentangle...would this swap be something for a beginer or would it be best if I sit this one out?

TC 03/29/2011 #

woopsydaisy, I'm pretty new, too, but I've found that the sheet that we use for these 30-day swaps are great for practicing tangle patterns. The little boxes aren't too overwhelming. :)

@woopsydaisy Most definitely, join up! It's not about artistic talent! You are not rated on spectacular drawings. It's all about lines and circles, anyway. I've only been at Zentangling for a little over one month. My artistic ability can been seen on my Flickr group...real simple!

Going to have to drop this time; I have too much on my plate for the month of April!
