Description:

From Wikipedia: "The Ides of March (Latin: Idus Martii) is the name of 15 March in the Roman calendar, probably referring to the day of the full moon. The term ides was used for the 15th day of the months of March, May, July, and October, and the 13th day of the other months. The Ides of March was a festive day dedicated to the god Mars and a military parade was usually held. In modern times, the term Ides of March is best known as the date that Julius Caesar was killed in 710 AUC or 44 B.C. Julius Caesar was stabbed to death in the Roman Senate led by Marcus Junius Brutus, Gaius Cassius Longinus and 60 other co-conspirators. On his way to the Theatre of Pompey (where he would be assassinated), Caesar saw a seer who had foretold that harm would come to him not later than the Ides of March. Caesar joked, 'Well, the Ides of March have come', to which the seer replied 'Ay, they have come, but they are not gone.'This meeting is famously dramatized in William Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar, when Caesar is warned to 'beware the Ides of March'."

For this swap, you will have three partners. Make or buy postcards OR standard greeting cards for your partners. It is strongly preferred that the cards somehow relate to the Ides of March or Julies Caesar. If you absolutely cannot find/make such cards, cards that relate more generally to either spring or William Shakespeare are acceptable, but these should be treated as an absolute last resort. You will send one card to each partner; please include a message that relates to the Ides of March.

This is an international swap. Unrated members are welcome; rated members must have a rating of 4.5+. I will angel this swap as needed.

Can the card be computer generated? Sounds like fun! Thanks!

thesuester 12/16/2010 #

Sure, computer generated cards are fine, as long as you send it to your partner via snail mail. :-)

Also, if you like this swap, you may enjoy this group. I'm sorry if this comment comes off sounding spamm-y, but I thought it would be ok since I'm hosting this swap.

Just an FYI: if you have questions/problems/concerns regarding this swap and would like my assistance, feel free to get in touch. I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner.

Just a note to my partners: I did, in fact, send on March 5th. I'm just dumb and forgot to mark it as such.
