Description:

I love to travel, and I love to talk about places I've been as well as hear about places others have been. (I can talk for hours about Cambodia)

For each monthly themed swap, you'll have 2 partners and send each of them a postcard with a note about a place you've been that follows the monthly theme. Use the questions that follow as a guideline for your note. THIS IS A WRITING SWAP!

November's Theme is: HOMETOWN HAUNTS

Where are you from? What are some popular places to visit in your hometown? Have you ever been to them? (Write as much as you can fit on the back of the postcard about this place.)

Write the Swap Name (Places I've Been - Nov2010), Swap Theme (HOMETOWN HAUNTS) and Your Name VERY CLEARLY on the postcard.

The postcards can be handmade or store-bought. It's usually best to check your partners' preferences 1st!

If you have a postcard of the "place you've been", that's fantastic, but it does NOT have to be. ONLY the message must be written about the place.

This swap is international, and is open to all, You may be banned if you have really bad recent ratings, if you have any no-sends in this series of swaps, if you have failed to meet the swap requirements in this series of swaps, or are just plain questionable.

You must have logged in to Swap-Bot at least 2 days prior to the sign up date, or you will be dropped from the swap before partners are assigned. (edited 10/20/10)

Happy travels!

As always, if you have any other ideas for monthly travel themes, please share them. I will gladly use your ideas on upcoming swaps!

DISCLAIMER: This swap is intended to be a writing experience. If you fail to adequately write about this month's theme, your partner may rate you a 3 for not meeting the swap requirements. Please read the theme questions carefully.

Hey, you're right - they're similar! I am more interested in the postcard itself - but with a note about the postcard. Well, maybe people will join both.

If 3 partners are too many, try @lindall 's swap Local Haunts PC Swap. There's only 1 partner and it focuses on the origin of the postcard rather than the writing. Sounds fun!

@onlyincambodia I came here after reading @lindall s swap (I did a swap search for 'postcard'), and yes, they do sound a little similar. I do like @lindall s 1 partner detail, but I don't mind 2 or 3 partners either, because I just LOVE postcards! I did want to bring to your attention that you have 2 partners up in the details, but in your written description, you mention 3 partners. I don't mind either number, but thought you'd like to know there are two different "partner" requirements mentioned in your swap.

This is such a great idea! I love to travel and hear about others travels as well. It is always so inspiring.

Just a few things to clear up @onlyincambodia are we to send the postcard naked or in a envelope. And what is the true number of the people we will be swapping with 2 or 3?

I'm so excited!!!

Ooops! My mistake @KarlaKC and @HouseOfHearts

Originally the series was for 3 partners thus the confusion since I reduced it to 2 partners for this month.

Postcards should be mailed naked.
