Description:

I did this swap back in 2007 and loved it - can you believe I've been on SB nearly 3 years!

Take a box, a small bucket, an old lunch box, old records, a coffee can, an old binocular box, an old book, an old hat box, or anything else that strikes your fancy, and use it to make your partner a purse.

You cannot make it from scratch or from another purse - the majority of the purse must be made from something that you already have and are recycling. The idea is to make a purse from something that was not intended to be a purse. Be really creative, strive for unusual and different, but make it something they will be proud to show off!

Check out your partner's profile for their favorite colours, just in case you have something that will work in that colour. More importantly, if your partner hates pink don't send them a fluffy pink purse. Try to match it in some way with something in your partner's profile. For example, if they like cats use a cat charm or button. If they like dragons, use an image of a dragon on it or an old button or charm that has a dragon on it. Just try to make it theirs, make it personal, but most importantly, make it fun.

There is no dollar value on this because most of what you use should be recycled materials. Do not send a tiny purse, send a nice size usable purse at least 6 inches long.

You are invited to sign up if you have:

•a 4.7 rating or higher •no 1s in the 6 months prior to sign up •a fully completed profile •at least 10 substantial swaps rated a 5 Sorry, no newbies.

I reserve the right to ban according to my criteria, and will do so after sign up. But, if you have concerns about anyone, please let me know.

If you do not meet the above criteria but feel your circumstances deserve consideration, please pm me.

umm it says non usa but you have it international...confused....which is it....no usa can join or everyone can join?

kntshovary 04/14/2010 #

Yes. The title says non-usa, but the location says international. Which is it?

To choose a particular region of the world to reduce postage costs is reasonable. To exclude just one country from a swap is, well...discrimination, no?

Godsrockangel 04/15/2010 #

I'm sorry I had set it as Non-USA because shipping to the USA from the UK can be very pricey. I didn't intend it to be discriminatory @pianoheart I'm sorry you felt that it was.

I have changed it to International - and it really is international now. I'm sorry for any issues caused. (It's been a little while since I hosted a proper "postage" swap rather than an email swap)

Do you mean a handbag-type purse or a keep-your-money-and-credit-card-in-it-type purse?? I don't want to join up and make the wrong thingumy :)
