Description:

Using scrapbooking and card making techniques, make over store-bought-one-dimensional-it's-the-thought-that-counts greeting cards to add to your partner's stash of cards.

Ideas: You can cut or tear out the original graphics, ink edges, use foam dots for dimension, add embellishments and glue everything to a new blank card base (or on top of a duplicate card if you have them).

Send 3 of your improved cards with envelopes to your partner to add to their stash of cards. I suggest one each of Happy Birthday, Get Well, and one with no message to be personalized as needed.

If you don't have enough cards on hand to decorate (and I will have used up my stash with this swap), they can be found cheaply at thrift stores or yard sales.

This is my first swap as host so pm me if you have questions or comments.

This is a good swap idea! I make cards like this all the time. Dollar stores and Michael's dollar bins are good places to find inexpensive cards for altering. Sometimes I make them "arty" using collage techniques. Other times I'll use more scrapbooking type items and techniques. But my favorite altered cards use vintage ephemera (especially recycled greeting cards). I'm going to have fun with this!

I just want to say Thank you MissJay for hosting such an awesome swap... I had so much fun tonight making over my greeting cards for my partner.. I just hope that she enjoys them as much as I did making them just for her......
