Date items must be sent by:July 31, 2009
Number of swap partners:1
Description:
  • I love to keep ‘unusual/useless/weird’ things in my pockets so I thought why not keep a special/secret/lucky stuffie to keep me company? Because stuffies are cool, and small things are (often) cute and fun, so let’s see how nice a small stuffie can turn up!

  • This swap is for one ( 1 ), small ( about 2 inch / 5 cm ) , stuffie for one (1) partner . It can be sewn, felted, crocheted… if it’s small and soft it should be ok ( if you are not sure please pm me). Don’t forget to include your swapbot name and name of the swap,

  • Note that the final stuffie is going to be quite small, so work with care and minutia, and maybe do a test run before joining the swap if you are not sure you can make it. They can be quite quick to make, and use a really small amount of fabric/felt.. ( they are also pretty light to mail! )

  • The theme is open, so the sender choose what to do, but I encourage you to take a look at your partners profile for inspirations, favourite colour.. It can be quite simple (easy shapes like stars and hearts) or a bit more detailed. The picture is of some I made to test the idea, see it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/carotte/3682147945/

  • This is international so be aware that mail could take some time to reach and be patient. Please let your partner know if you are going to be late. And remember to rate upon receiving and be fair in your rating,

    Swap requirement:

  • 4.9 rating in good standing ( no recent 1’)

    • [ if you feel an unfair rating is keeping you under 4.9 please PM me and we can talk about it ] -
  • A full profile for everyone, remember it might not be revelent for this swap but it is always nice to know who we are sending to, makes things easier and show you are dedicated.
  • Newbies are welcomed, but I’d like them to pm me after joining (to show some commitment). I will go through the list of participant before assigning partners to minimise problems.

If this turn out ok I hope to do more of these with maybe more partners or a theme. Any question please PM me and if the time frame doesn’t suit you but you really want to do this consider PMing me for a private swap.

My first hosted swap, I hope I worded things right.

It's not much and they should be low cost to make and send, so you can consider sending more than one, or putting it in a decorated matchbox, or adding a 'profile' if it's a monster stuffie.. make something nice for your partner!

Would a needle-felted soft creature work? They aren't "stuffed" per se, but are soft little friends. :)

Such an adorable idea!

How wonderful of you to create a swap about this! I too keep various 'secret compagnions' in my pockets, I would never have dreamed of articulating it.

In my pockets right now: an acorn, a tiny pinecone, a little round stone and in one finger of my glove: a willow catkin.

I even made a smallish matryoskha with a 'double' face to carry to work. Outward she is polite but when you look under the mask she is pulling a face. Just to remind me it's ok to be professional and polite to people and privately think they are stupid and inconsiderate. ;)

Juliettie > a needle-felted one is perfect, don't worry.

and thanks everyone, I'm glad there is interest in it!
