No new decos in this swap.
The purpose of this swap is to move established off-season art-style decos, and keep them in rotation until they are sent home.
The suitable themes for this swap would be any variation of Summer, Fall, Winter and any holidays that fall within those seasons.
Requirements:
Send ONE established OFF-SEASON art deco to ONE partner.
Check before sending that your partner has not already “passed” on or made a page in the book, and that they are not the maker or owner (final recipient) of the deco book.
Last pagers (AKA "homers") are OK to send (that means there is only 1 page left in the deco after you work on it so the next person will be responsible for sending it home).
Include a note with your swap-bot ID and the swap name inside your envelope.
Send by the deadline and rate promptly upon receipt.
If your partner has already signed all of your established off-season-themed decos, or you do not have any decos on hand, please follow these guidelines if starting a new ART-style deco:
The person the deco is for (who it will return to) should be clearly noted somewhere on the deco. Include an email address.
Make the deco in booklet form, meaning you open the book and pages are attached inside. No books with pages attached in one corner.
No staples may be used when making art decos. Please use tiny brads, ribbon, string, etc.
Use sturdy paper with paper cut straight, and the inside paper should be easy to adhere to and not glossy.
Only include 6-8 pages on the inside of your deco. As pages are decorated, the thickness of the book increases as does the cost to mail it.
All decos should have at least 3 FLAT design elements/items on your cover decorating. (Ex: layering, die cuts, ribbon, washi, vellum, one (1) sticker only, etc). This will allow the deco to be mailed cheaply and have a greater ability to be traded in future swaps.
Art decos can have hand-painted or drawn elements but it is not a requirement. Compared to 'friendship books' or "sticker slapped decos" Art decos are more high quality with a polished appearance.
Things to avoid: enamel dots, gems, buttons, wooden embellishments, chipboard cut-outs, etc...which will increase the cost of postage significantly, as will rigid items.
If it's fairly flat and can fit in a normal envelope, its chances of getting full and being returned to you are much greater. Huge, bulky ones are much harder to move along.
Decos received in this swap may be moved in any other swap - a private swap or in any swap group - you do not need to wait for the next "round" of this swap, as it is not a round-robin type swap.
Please PM me with any questions as swap coordinators are not notified when comments are posted below.
