Let’s share in a fun new festive game! We are going to be among the first in the world to create and assemble a modern PUZZLE! Puzzles, in some form, have existed for thousands of years, but it was 1760 when a British cartographer named John Spilsbury invented what is considered to be the first jig-saw puzzles. He was looking for way to teach geography to children that would be both engaging and educational. He had the novel idea of gluing a map of Europe to a wooden board and cutting along the borders, so that children would learn the shape and location of each country as they reassembled it. Informational link HERE In honor of this brilliant invention we will be gifting our partner with their own festive holiday puzzle. **The Swap: Simply take a sturdy piece of chipboard or heavy cardstock and create a festive image on one side. Adhere an image on one side with glue. You can use a digital image, a calendar page, recycle a greeting card, decoupage a napkin, do a drawing/painting, etc. Cut the image into various shapes - a minimum of 10 pieces - and mail the pieces to your partner in a decorated envelope to reassemble once received. Make the finished puzzle image around 5x7 inches, use your discretion but nothing too small.** We do hope you’ll participate in this new craze, it seems like something that will become very popular! Happy Holidays! 🎄❄️ |
