From March on, we'll be doing two APCs per month, thereby shortening the time to complete a full deck of cards in almost half the time; I say "almost" because we've already used up four months for the first four cards! But, don't dwell on it - we're up to speed now! I’ve just learned that ShanoukiArt has made TWO Full Decks and videoed them all (thanks, @DragonflyDaisy for bringing that to my attention). So, you get to decide which one you want to use - I’ll provide a link to BOTH video’s for each card. Full Deck #1: card #5 - if you choose this option, please emulate the art up to the stencilling; after that you can continue to the end, or finish it the way you like. Full Deck #2: card #5 Full Deck #1: card #6 - shaker type; my advice is to use much less stuffing (postage costs being what they are these days). Full Deck #2: card #6 Sewing is always optional; unfortunately, I don't sew but it sure looks wonderful! Other ideas could be to hand sew, or draw stitching or use swirls of thread (again, optional). I’ve noticed that both corners disappear on ShanoukiArt’s art - please don’t do this. One important rule for APCs is to have one corner showing both the number AND the suit - doesn’t matter which corner. This is NOT optional. Same rules as always - your playing card must be Poker sized (3.5 x 2.5 inches) and have one corner showing. No need to copy her video exactly - make it your own, but please do emulate her style and the effect she's going for. It needs to be recognizable as the card she's making. Please DO NOT put a hole in the corner of the card - let your partner decide where, or if, she wants a hole in it. If I want a hole, I'd put it on the other side, so the number and suit aren't destroyed. It's up to you if you want to use a whole deck, or just the cards you have on hand (just join those ones, in that case). But, for those of us who want to end up with a whole deck, you MUST use the card that is being represented for the swap you play. This month is using the 5 and 6 of Hearts, so everybody will send and get those cards. Hope you've had fun so far; I'm not a gambler, but now it'll be double the fun! |
