This swap is open for anybody with European address and at least 25 rated swaps (type 2 & 3), but note that the availability of special diet items may vary a lot between countries. If you follow strict special diet and want to join the swap, you have to accept that your partner might not be able to send you something that is suitable for you.

Only Europe! No newbies this time. No recent 1s or 3s. Before joining make sure that your country's post office is currently able to deliver to / receive from European countries. We don't wanna have the snacks to get bad in some storage somewhere.

Hey, everybody interested on European food swaps! I have been wondering if there would be interest for different versions of Tasty Europe? The mini and variation editions have been quite well taken in, but would there be interest for example for large swap version, baking kits, cookies, baked goods, non-treat foods etc.? Let me know if you would like to join and swap different European tastes!

@Ninna
I would be very interested in a bigger version of this swap. As sending one treat will cost about the same postage as sending items up to 2 kg for us in Germany, it would be far more effective and fun to join a bigger swap. (Explanation: It's not allowed anymore to send non-paper items at letter rate; I guess they won't detect a teabag within a paper letter, but something as obviously non-paper as a snack will be a small parcel and that can weigh up to 2kg with the same postage costs for all countries in the EU - is that different for other countries in Europe?)

Yes definitely interested in a larger swap!

@Stachel That's interesting... and very unfortunate for swappers. I heard there was some other country who also applied that... Was it NL? Sweden doesn't have such thing at least (yet!) Bigger swap would be interesting, but if I am the host I will have to limit it max 500 g as we pay by weight and that is my max level for public swaps. But of course it would be up for the swapper how heavy things they want to send.

I'd love some bigger swaps too! I have checked the prices and anything up to 1kg is very reasonable, after that shipping becomes quite expensive. So 500g swaps would be fun to do!

Nuisant 10/14/2020 #

Just reading through the comments, I am currently hosting a large international food swap if anyone would be interested!

Ninna 10/17/2020 #

I think we could do bigger Tasty Europe later at the begin of November and if that works well then maybe another one after couple months. Can't be hosting that big ones too often, keep the list on eye so you don't miss it!

@Nuisant I was thinking about joining yours, but I found the price + number of items + bigger items too impossible for me to do. Would be way too expensive swap for me with these prices and weight based postage we have here :/

Nuisant 10/19/2020 #

@Ninna oh no :( UK postage is not too bad, maybe I will create a lower costing swap so we can still try each others foods but not pay so much postage!

Stachel 10/22/2020 #

@Nuisant
I have thought about joining yours but currently we can only send parcels to the US with premium shipping (for more than 50โ‚ฌ postage). So I have dropped from it when I saw there was someone from the US in it. So a regional swap like Europe is the only possible way to do it for me until the US is accepting small parcels with normal postage again...
