πŸ—Ώ Theme: Post-classical history, also known as the Medieval era (500-1500 CE)! Anything from any of those years, centuries and decades is allowed, from any corner of the Earth. Can't think of anything specific because the time frame in question is kind of enormous? Here's some medieval history for inspiration:

  • Byzantine Empire (476-1453)
  • Nara period (Japan, 709-795)
  • Islamic Golden Age (Middle East, 750-1300)
  • Viking Age (Scandinavia, 793-1066)
  • Goryeo Kingdom (Korea, 918-1392)
  • Crusades (Mediterranean Sea, 1095-1291)
  • What was your country up to during these years?

Some interesting people who lived back then:

  • Abbas ibn Firnas, an Andalusian polymath, a pioneer of aviation
  • Akka Mahadevi, one of the early female poets of the Kannada literature
  • Avicenna, a Persian polymath, the father of the early modern medicine
  • Charlemagne, the King and Emperor of a lot of things
  • Genghis Khan, Emperor of the Mongol Empire
  • Joan of Arc, a heroine of France, canonised Catholic saint
  • Marco Polo, a Venetian merchant and explorer
  • Murasaki Shikibu, the author of Tale of Genji, widely considered to be the world's first novel
  • Sejong the Great, King of the Joseon dynasty, personally created the Korean writing system

πŸ—Ώ Medium: anything goes except sticker slapping and found images with nothing added to them. That's not cool. Put some effort into it and make something you would want to receive!

πŸ—Ώ Size: The usual 2,5 x 3,5 inches. Please use a reasonably sturdy backing.

πŸ—Ώ On the back of the card, please write your name/username, date of creation and the name of the swap. Please also add a note explaining how your ATC fits the theme!

πŸ—Ώ Newbies with at least 20 completed and rated swaps are welcome, but non-raters, flakers or unresolved low ratings are not.
