Description:

Since this is the first crochet/knit swap I'm making for this group, I wanted to start with something really simple, I don't knit, only crochet, so I'm not sure if you can knit these or not, but if you can crochet or knit them, you are welcome to join.

We'll be making a set of two cute fridgies! These are little flattish crocheted or maybe knit, items, with a magnet attached to their backs to put on your fridge. There's an example above, or you can google crocheted fridge magnets to see more of them. There are a ton of free patterns out there for fridgies. They don't have to be flowers. You can do animals, butterflies, sea shells, tiny flat dolls, houses, whatever you want!

Send both fridgies to the same partner so they should coordinate with each other to look nice on the fridge. They don't need to be profile-based, so you can get started whenever you join. Try to make them small enough to fit in one envie, since this is CPG. But of course, if you want to make them big or rounded, that is up to you.

If you are a beginning crocheter or knitter this is a perfect place to start. Since we are including beginners, nobody is to rate down for the stitching quality on this swap. If your partner sent you two crocheted or knitted fridgies with magnets on their backs, you should give a five, hearts optional. I will make a harder crochet swap next week if you all are interested. I will angel this swap if anyone flakes, but I know OG will put you out if you flake in her group, so I don't think anyone will do that.

What's the best magnet for these? Hot glue and discs??

I was going to join this, but I have taken on too much ... But please do more crochet swaps! :)

Origami, you've already completed this I know, but if anyone else is monitoring this, I use magnetic tape for this. It comes in a 15-foot size roll on Amazon for about 5 or 6 dollars. Since you only need a piece of the tape that is about 2 inches on each magnet, you can do about a hundred magnetic items with one roll of tape! Economical!
