Description:

I didn't find any swaps like this after quick search, but in case somebody already had this idea before, I apologize for unintentional copying!

Have you ever wondered just how different things are somewhere else?

The things you might not find out with google?

The things they don't (always) tell tourists about...

Well, now is your chance to find out! In this letter swap you have one partner, from another country, and you will write them a letter where you reply for following questions:

  1. Who is the king / queen of yellow / tabloid journalism in your country and what they did to end up being the one everybody hates and loves to know all about?

  2. What is that area / city in your country that is just bit different and makes everybody wonder how they are still part of the country at all? (if there is any)

  3. What is the most annoying but still way too popular reality TV series in your country?

  4. What is the food all kids hate?

  5. What is the correct time to eat dinner?

  6. What is the national holiday destination for locals in your country?

  7. What is the number one sport that everybody follows at least a little?

  8. What is the number one song, that every radio channel is playing, in your country right now? (doesn't need to be a song from your country)

  9. What is the biggest national holiday?

  10. What is the thing that makes people in your country totally lose their mind? (e.g. winning something, some tradition that happens regularly, announcing something, elections, events etc.)

  11. How the grading works in schools in your country? (e.g. numbers, letters...)

  12. What is the current hot topic that everybody is talking about?

  13. What is the most popular fast food restaurant among locals?

  14. What is the thing your nation lies / doesn't tell about to tourist? (e.g. the best destination to visit, "traditional" things to do, saying the fast train is only way to get to the airport tho there is completely fine and much cheaper buss line, cheaper shops outside of tourist area...)

BONUS QUESTION: If you have ever lived in another country, what was the weirdest cultural shock you got?

You may write your letter by hand or type it. Use pretty stationery or normal office paper. That doesn't matter so long you answer the questions. If there are questions that do not ably on your country, you may of course skip those BUT for every skipped question you will have to share one Very Secret Fact Only Locals Know. You do not need to send reply for your partner, but of course if you both want you can continue sharing the inside information and make it pen paling.

Because we are supposed to share our secret knowledge, ONLY ONE PARTICIPANT PER COUNTRY allowed! However because there are people like me who are born and raised in one country and live now in another, you may also present country other than where you live in IF you have lived in the said country and know enough of / follow things going on there to reply for the questions (and the country hasn't been already taken, of course). We want the inside information so tell about the country you count as a local in!

Write down in comments which country you are from / or which you are going to write about. (I take Sweden so any of my fellow Finns can still join in ;)

Anybody with at least 5 completed and rated swaps are welcome to join in. No recent or large amount of unexplained 1s or 3s. I will angel if necessary.
