What We're Swapping: ONE Valentine Themed Reusable Shopping Bag/Tote, must be handmade or a ready-made bag that is embellished.

How Many Partners? Just ONE. One bag for one partner.

Rating Requirements? Newbies are welcome, but you must have your profile filled in. "Absolutely NO no-sends in the past 3 months". rating at least a 4.95

Please don't apply if you have flaked on a previous swap or have 1 ratings. (Unless you can prove you've changed your ways).

Monetary Cost of Swap You should not spend more than $5 for supplies for this project! Stashbusting and recycled materials are highly recommended! Just remember the motto of this swap is STURDY!

What is a Reusable Shopping Bag? Can be made of any material you like, but with a mind for heavy use. It should be made of sturdy material and have reinforced seams. You should be able to carry several cans in it repeatedly and have it hold up beautifully. Regular cotton is fine! Fused plastic (with sewn seams) is also acceptable. Should be generous in size.

I LOVE THIS IDEA!!! I just signed up:) Can't wait to get started!!! Will it be ok to crochet the bag? I have several patterns for cool crocheted shopping bags.

ktkatz 01/15/2009 #

I guess a crochet bag would be ok. Unless anyone else has any complaints then i would say it is ok.

Thanks Katz:) Looking forward to it!!!

A crochet bag would be really cool! I've got some cute fabric, and I am going to use a Burda pattern that I just got done with for another shopping bag swap. Can't wait! This is great for the three day weekend!

I'm too new to get in on this one, but I thought I might decorate one of my factory made nylon bags ( http://www.breezybags.com ). Would that count, or would that be considered, um, well, not too good?
