BTH: Cemetery Photo and Local Ghost Story

For many of us, as autumn draws close, our minds turn not just to the changing leaves, apples, and harvests, but also to All Hallow's Eve. I know that for me, September is always the month when I can truly feel the worlds drawing near to one another, and the anticipation of the closing of another year.

For some reason, this also engenders in me a renewed interest in our local burial grounds (and here in the Boston area, we are rich in cemeteries!) and local ghost stories.

For this swap, we're going to go ghost hunting! Well, sort of. Pay a visit to your local or favourite burial ground and take a photo. Find a point of interest and try to get a frame-worthy shot!

Print your photo out and then research local ghost stories and share one, along with your photo, with one partner.

The Details

• One frame-worthy photo of your local burial ground or cemetery (may be of a single grave of interest or a section of the cemetery - the focal point is up to you).

• The photo may be black and white or colour, must be printed out on professional photo paper (any drug store kiosk or photo printer will do), and must be at least 4x6.

• One local ghost story! The story may center around the burial ground, a grave in the cemetery, or be a local (to your area) tale.

• The ghost story may be printed, typed, or hand-written.

• Send on time. Rate promptly upon receipt. Sending late without communication warrants a 3 rating and removal from the group. Not rating or having to be chased for a rating also warrants removal from the group. Communicate and rate.
