Description:

A story, heard in the childhood, or in adulthood, with or without a moral, containing fantastic, or completely ordinary beings, scary, hilarious, or simply a story, only requirement being - it is not written by a known author - it is a true "folk tale" - passed on through generations before being collected by someone - or maybe not yet!

So, stories collected by the Brothers Grimm are acceptable, but those written by Hans Christien Anderson are not. I hope I am making myself clear! Please comment if it is confusing.

This story can be from any part of the world, any culture, any community, any mythology, including those of living & currently practised religions. I am sure the prophets won't sue us for copyright. Also, any age level. So, be warned you might receive adult content. (Or maybe a story meant for very small kids - that's allowed too!)

International Swap.

  • Pick a story. Write it down, print it out, or find book/magazine pages of it IN ENGLISH.

  • Write a note to our partner about when you first read/ heard it, & anything you might know/ speculate about its origin. Why you chose it to send to them

  • Put it in an envelope, & send with adequate postage.

I discourage "extras". It takes focus away from the actual swap. You may include something if it relates with the story, or enhances the storytelling. However, mail art is most welcome (but not mandatory)

Rate promptly. A 5 if you received a story which does not belong to a particular author, & a note from your partner.

I will check profiles for late swaps.

I will angel if necessary - I hope not! It's just the first swap of the group!

I hope we all have fun both sending & receiving. :)
