Description:

This is a swap for people looking to make long term pen-pals.
Write a good length introductory letter to your partner. (At least one(1) 5.5x8.5 page - front AND back, or just one(1) side of a 8.5x11 sheet. But longer is better.) flat surprises and mail art are nice but not necessary, this swap is all about the letter and making a connection.

And then please write back to the person who wrote to you.

As with any swap, please don't forget to write “swap bot”, the group name, the swap name, and your user name somewhere on the letter so your partner knows who to rate! Also be sure that your address is prominently displayed somewhere inside your letter so that your partner can write back.

this is for people looking for long term pen pals, please do no join if you can't/don't want to write back to your partners and keep up a long term correspondence.
(that being said, the swap bot matching algorithm is random, and it is understandable if you are not a good match. If after a few letters you and your partner decide to stop responding that would be ok, but please at least make an effort)

some ideas for what to write about in your intro letter:

  • describe yourself - what do you look like
  • describe yourself - likes (favorite color, favorite food, favorite subject in school, etc)
  • describe your family - brothers? sisters? spouse/partner? children?
  • describe where you live - talk about your house, your town, your state
  • talk about your pets!
  • talk about your hobbies
  • talk about what books you like

  • ask questions! what are you curious about? These letters are to start a conversation!
