Description:

Let's make some easy washi cards! Grab a few rolls of tape or some of the samples you've received lately and lay some strips side by side on a piece of card stock (or use cut up manila folders). In my example above, I put them diagonally and then added a stamped "hello" saying in the corner. As not all washi tape is not created equal, I like to fold the edges around to the back so they'll stay down. When you have put as many strips as you want on the card, adhere it to a folded card.

Feel free to use a similar design or come up with one of your own. Adding a stamped greeting is optional.

Fine Details

  • 2 partners; 1 washi card for each. You will write a note to your partners inside the cards. Please write more than just "hello, here is the swap." Tell about your washi collection or the fun ways you like to use it.
  • Decorate the front of your envelopes with tape (use several different colors).
  • Include 8 random 15-inch strips for your partner to play with.

Look out - once you try one a simple washi card, you may be inspired to create a few more and use them for pen pal cards, swap cards, etc.

Have fun! :)

The recommended budget for the handmade gifts is Geometry Dash around $10, excluding postage costs. Participants are encouraged to wrap their gifts nicely to add to the surprise and festive spirit of the swap.
