Description:

. . . . . . . . . .

I participated in a swap like this hosted by @tengu2 in 2012. It is still one of my all-time favorite Swap-bot challenges. The image above is a colored pencil rendering of a photo montage made from images clipped out of magazines and glued to an ATC blank.

  • You will create two ATCs for one partner.

  • The first ATC will be a collage made by gluing three or more photographic images to a sturdy ATC substrate. You may use photos you've taken yourself, photos you find in books or magazines, or a combination of personal and public prints. Do not use photocopied images or digital images downloaded from the internet. No other markings or embellishments should be added.

  • The second ATC will be an artistic rendering of the collaged ATC. You may use any medium or combination of media you like to create this piece. The idea is to replicate the collage as closely as possible.

  • Write your username, the swap title and date on the back of each ATC.

  • Mail the ATCs in either plastic sleeves or paper envelopes attached to a card of some kind to keep them from shifting around inside of the main envelope.

NOTE: This is a Sender's Choice challenge. I've set the sign-up date several weeks away so you can experiment with this technique before you officially commit to the swap, if you'd like to do that. For this swap, it's okay to have your pieces completed before partners are assigned.

Remember . . . both ATCs should be the standard 2.5" X 3.5" in size.

Please do your very best work, but be kind to yourself and to each other. Many of us here are not professional artists. This is a good opportunity to challenge yourself and encourage someone else.

You're welcome! I just finished playing with cutout pieces to make the collage for this swap. It will be quite strange but fun to draw. I hope you all enjoy this process!
