Description:

Christmas is my favorite time of year! I love all the hustle and bustle, the lights, the trees, and of course the cookies and the presents!

For this swap you will send two of your favorite Christmas Cookie recipes along with a Christmas themed handmade apron. If you aren't a seamstress but wish to play along, Etsy has a lovely selection of handmade aprons. Along with this, let's include a small Christmas themed gift of your choice, a Christmas ornament, cookie cutters, a Christmas book or magazine, maybe a Christmas CD to listen to while baking!

Newbies are welcome with a nicely filled out profile. Because of postage costs I'm making this USA only, perhaps someone else would like to set up a similar international swap.

Edited To Add: Okay Ladies! Partners have been assigned! Read your partner's profile, check the comments made here, consider what your sewing strengths are and make the best Christmas apron ever!

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to PM me. I'm hoping this will be a wonderful start to the Christmas holiday for all of us!

This sounds like an awesome swap! I can't wait to get started! Ideas are already running through my head! I love Christmas and I love homemade gifts at Christmas time! Julie

SusanCleveland 08/29/2008 #

This sounds like lots of fun.

PennyS 08/29/2008 #

I have the perfect fabric, count me in ;-)

AliciaAmy 08/29/2008 #

could you buy a apron and use iron ons?

Terri904 08/29/2008 #

AliciaAmy - you could buy a handmade apron if you want to play along. Etsy has them and maybe some other crafty sites. But no, a purchased apron with iron ons isn't the same as a handmade apron.

sewandgrow 08/30/2008 #

I can surely join by the 15th. Thanks for inviting me. I make new Christmas ornaments every years for all my children, grand children, nieces nephews, great nieces & nephews etc. It takes about 43 to do that I will add an extra to list. I am packing a box in my head as I write........LOL

AliciaAmy 08/31/2008 #

Thanks for the info. maybe next time.

paytonchaise 09/ 5/2008 #

Ladies, I am so excited about this swap! I have a Christmas theme that I am running with! Now the problem is narrowing down the gift ideas that go along with this theme! Julie

This swap sounds like so much fun. This will be a great way to get the season going. I love christmas. It is my favorite time of the year.

Terri904 09/ 8/2008 #

I'm so happy to see so many of you signed up! I think we're going to have a good time. We should all have new Christmas aprons just as the season gets started and two new cookie recipes to break them in!

Thanks for playing along.

lcbrant 09/ 8/2008 #

I love new cookie recipes!

Caranam 09/16/2008 #

Are we doing half or whole aprons?

Terri904 09/17/2008 #

Good question Caranam. I personally like a whole apron, though a half is nice if it is full, meaning long and generous, useful. (LOL! Maybe not the best way to describe it, but I hope you know what I mean - not a short skimpy half apron.)

Read your partner's profile, check the comments made here, consider what your sewing strengths are and do the best that you can do.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Leeame 09/21/2008 #

Hi all, as for aprons, I'm rather tall & most full aprons don't fit me well so I would prefer a half apron. I do have some great full apron patterns so I could make either one. Looking forward to the 15th

ClaireSky 09/22/2008 #

Hi everyone! I am sooo excited about this swap! As for aprons... I would prefer a full apron.

claumiu 09/24/2008 #

I wish I could join both!!

ClaireSky 09/26/2008 #

Claumiu, Just curious... how do you get "Christmas Apron Swap" so you don't have to put the address? if I decide to post something it would be good to know.

forsara 10/ 1/2008 #

Hi - My preference is for a half apron, and a short skirty style is also fine by me. Thanks. Can't wait to get these goodies in the mail! :)

How fun! I am very excited. I just recently discovered Swap-Bot--I have been waiting for another apron swap to open up! I do not have a preference on half or full, but I do wear a size small. Christmas is my favorite time of year! YAY!!

sewandgrow 10/ 8/2008 #

My fabrics & I are waiting for assignment. I would love to start but am waiting for my partners preferences. I guess I will just make the ornament while waiting....LOL I prefer full aprons because I am soooooo messy. I am a full figured lady LOL & Love big pockets because I am always crafting & carry an assortment of things around with me. Karen in California

Partners are assigned tomorrow! Is everybody ready? I'm anxious to get started! I have Christmas fabrics in my stash and have been looking at new fabrics, too.

I hope to be able to have partners assigned early tomorrow!

fabriholic 10/14/2008 #

Hi,

I am excited and I am an average weight person so either a 1/2 apron with pockets or full apron is fine for me! WOOOOWIE!!!!!

niecedenise 10/15/2008 #

I prefer a half apron-but if you want a full would be fine. Just make long strings-Im not a small person.

niecedenise 10/15/2008 #

Cant assign partners till the 16th!

Terri904 10/15/2008 #

NieceDenise, I'm just so ready to get started!

PennyS 10/15/2008 #

Very excited about this swap, I have my ideas at the ready ;-)

I don't mind 1/2 or full aprons.

acommonthread 10/15/2008 #

I like either full aprons with an open back or half aprons that go almost all the way around the waist!

mlookyloo1 10/16/2008 #

I like a full or a half is ok with me

Jillzwhimzy 10/19/2008 #

Hi I do like 1/2 aprons best but will take either one gladly :) - looking forward to this swap!

I'm just finishing mine up. I'll have mine in the mail by Thursday. It's going all the way to Alaska!

mrspriss 11/18/2008 #

wow! Alaska! I think that is one of the neatest parts about swapping...something we make ends up across the country or world! this week mine is going to CA, but next week one is going to UT.

Terri904 11/19/2008 #

I just dropped my package off! How's everyone else coming along? I tell you, time creeps up on you, doesn't it? When I first posted this swap it seemed so far in advance, but looking back it seems just a couple of days ago that I posted!

Check in when you have time, let us know how you're coming along, if you've mailed and if you've received. Tell us about your packages!

mrspriss 11/20/2008 #

I mailed on Tuesday...I just checked my tracking number online and it has made it to California! She should get it today or tomorrow :-)

I just realized I forgot to include my second cookie recipe! So if you get a package with only one recipe...be expecting a note in the mail with your second one! I am so sorry!!

Terri904 11/21/2008 #

You aren't the only one who forgot to include the cookie recipes! Isn't swapping fun!

I have to share - I got my package today. It's the coolest apron! I totally love it! As soon as I can get a picture I'm going to post it on my blog so you can all see my gorgeous new Christmas apron - and matching pot holders!!

Terri904 11/24/2008 #

I finally posted my Christmas in the Kitchen package on my blog, if you'd like to take a look.

Your post is fantastic. That is the precise answer I've been seeking for. I would also suggest to everyone about roller baller and connect dots . These are two games that promote fitness and are guaranteed to be enjoyable for you as well.
