Hey Sisters! I recently finished up an international version of this swap and it was very successful! Some of you expressed interest in a US-only version, so here it is! I will also be making some US and international Samhain and tea-related swaps in the next week, so keep an eye out!

Herbalism is a traditional medicinal or folk medicine practice based on the use of plants and plant extracts. The use of plants as medicines predates written human history. People on all continents have used hundreds to thousands of indigenous plants for treatment of ailments since prehistoric times. Modern herbalists concede that pharmaceuticals are more effective in emergency situations where time is of the essence. However, over the long term, herbs can help you resist disease, and that in addition, they provide nutritional and immunological support that pharmaceuticals lack. The goal is prevention as well as cure. -kitchenwiccan

Recently I have been very intrigued by herbal lore and remedies. I thought this would be a lovely swap to follow up our Mabon Recipe Exchange. The Fall Equinox is right around the corner (September 23rd), and none of us are immune to ailments. How lovely it would be to have an easy herbal recipe on hand to whip up if needed. There is no end to examples I could think of. Here are a few:

~A bath soak to cleanse the body ~A sensuous massage oil ~Homemade cough drops ~A traditional tea for colds and flu ~An herb sachet to add to meals

You can send a recipe for an elixir, a potion, aromatherapy, healing teas, oils, bath soaks, etc. The recipe is sender's choice, I only ask that you check your partner's profile for allergies. If their profile reads they are allergic to cinnamon, please don't send them a recipe that calls for cinnamon! :) Please send your recipe on a nice recipe card. You don't have to go all-out decorating, but I ask that it is typed or hand-written in a legible manner.

In addition to your recipe, you will send your partner one, SMALL crystal/gemstone to have while preparing their recipe. The crystal does not necessarily have to relate to the recipe, but they are nice to have as they all heighten our energies.

And lastly, please include a short letter to your partner explaining why you chose the recipe and gemstone you did, and what it is good for. Give credit where credit is due.

To sum it up, one herbal lore and remedy recipe on a nice card, one small crystal, and a short letter explaining/crediting your recipe/choices.

This is an easy swap. You will have one partner. You will have 2 weeks from the sign-up date to send out your swap. Do. Not. Flake. I reserve the right to ban anyone from the swap.

Be creative and have fun!
