Description:

I really love the idea of a travelling post card swap. I have never seen a version using a fabric post card and for those out there with an interest in fabric crafts, this may be right up your alley too. All you need to take part is to get your hands on a fabric post card to start. It can be made by you or made by someone else. You need only to acquire one fabric post card to take part, as you will send the one last received in the next swap round and so on.

I received the most beautiful fabric post card in round #1....and I must say it will be difficult to send it on in the next round. This swap series will continue on to round ten (at least) provided we get enough interest in the swap. To do that, we need at least 10 people interested in the swap. Let's cross our fingers that we can attract at least 10 to keep the series going:)

I am setting a long sign up period to give time for those who need to make a PC to start. KEEP IN MIND YOU ONLY NEED TO CREATE ONE FABRIC POST CARD FOR YOUR FIRST SWAP, OR IF YOU RECEIVE A CARD IN WHICH YOU SIGN THE LAST SPOT.....IN MOST CASES YOU WILL BE SENDING ON THE ONE YOU RECEIVED FROM THE SWAP BEFORE......AND EVENTUALLY YOU WILL GET YOUR CARD BACK WITH THE RECORD OF ITS TRAVELS.

First you will need a fabric postcard. If you need to make one there are lots of tutorials online like the one here

IF THIS IS THE FIRST ROUND YOU ARE TAKING PART IN.......

Prepare a card (no bigger than 5 x 7"). It will need to fit into an envelope. Make it lovely as it will come back home to you in the end.

Put your name and address on the right hand side of the card. (So that it can be mailed to you once full)

Put the title of the current swap ("Travelling Fab PC", RND#2, your SB user name, and city you are sending from) at the top of the left hand side. Do this in one line if you can so as to leave lots of room below for subsequent signatures. You will want to print tiny to get it all in one row. Now you can pop it into an envelope and mail it to your partner. When you receive a postcard from your partner...HOLD ON TO IT...for use in the following round.

FOLLOWING ROUNDS....

When you go to send the postcard you have received in the next round, you will write the swap name, your user name, and location on the left hand side under the person's before you. As mentioned above, keep your printing small so as to leave room below for following rounds.....We want our postcards filled with lots of interesting visits.

When the left side of the postcard is full, the last person will stamp the postcard with postage and send it to the original sender. This last send should be done naked.....the postcard...not you:) The return to sender should be done as soon as the card is full.

SO IF YOUR NAME AND LOCATION INFORMATION FILLS THE LAST SPOT ON THE CARD, YOU NEED TO SEND THIS PC TO THE ADDRESS ALREADY FILLED OUT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PC. You do not need to wait to sign up for the next swap to send a completed card back to it's owner.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED TO START A NEW CARD IF YOU RECEIVE A CARD THAT YOU HAVE JUST COMPLETED.

If at some point you do not want to take part in this series, please take the fabric PC that you last received and send it to it's owner in an envelope so that they can get it back into circulation.

I will be checking profiles before partners are assigned as I do not want to take chances on post cards not being sent on. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO SEE THE SWAP THROUGH, AND IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO SEND THE POSTCARD YOU LAST RECEIVED BACK TO ITS OWNER WHEN YOU STOP THIS SERIES......DO NOT SIGN UP.

Please note: All post cards are to be sent inside an envelope as letter mail...a bubble mailer is not needed, and would drive the postage required much too high. The only time the card is to sent naked....is on its final journey back home:)

PC backs can be fabric or paper...which ever you prefer. There are instructions for either online. If you choose a fabric back you will can write on the back with those micro pigma markers quite easily. In the end you will be getting the PC back, so make what you prefer. Postcards can be embellished however you like:)
