Description:

Okay, I've been wanting to do the new, popular swap, pocket letters. They are all the new rage. How come I'm not clever enough to start a new craze???

We all know April showers produce May flowers, so our 9 pockets will all have something to do with flowers and at least one pocket will have a note or letter telling something about what you are planting or doing with flowers.

I tried one of these pocket thingies at Easter and it was such fun filling the little pockets. I folded it in 3rds in a long business envelope and it mailed just fine with 2 regular stamps I'm told. I did make sure it didn't go over the 1/4 inch thick allowance. Be sure you have enough postage, please.

There are so many idea for the pockets, stickers, page with flower arrangement directions, flowers cut from a book, die cut flowers, poem about flowers and the pockets are just the size for ATCs or other small works of art. You get the idea. The possibilities are endless!

This is not profile specific so you can start right now : ) And, it is new to most of us, so do ask any and all questions below and we will learn together.

I hope there will be more of these in the following months as I have to skip this one.

I hope there will be enough interest to have more.

I'll have just enough time to make my pocket. We go on vacation the following week!

I have just started to test the waters with these pocket letters. As Joan said, the possibilities are endless.

Below is a link to the woman who invented this craze!

Pocket Letters

She's got tutorial, ideas, and shows some that she's received. YouTube has a TON of videos, which I've been watching a lot of lately.

Thank you for sharing the link, Beth. I hope the elaborate pictures don't scare anyone off. For this swap we will start out with something very simple, okay? I'm still not sure how much the postage runs up to with paperclip bumps or other thick objects. So, everyone please be kind and rate with beginners in mind. This will be a first for most of us.

I have done 3 of these in outside swaps and they are so much fun! You will enjoy creating each pocket - just like making ATC's or cards, tags, etc. I have gotten one from a partner in a regular business envelope and it will be more than 49 cents.

I hope these will continue. I'm unable to participate in May or June.
