Alright fellow Whovians, who is up for a Doctor ATC series? I hope a lot of you. The plan is to make one ATC for each of the 12 (or 13?) Doctors. This is Swap #3 of the series so our subject is... the Fourth Doctor! He was played by Tom Baker. This incarnation is generally regarded as the most recognisable of the Doctors and one of the most popular, especially in the United States. In polls conducted by Doctor Who Magazine, Tom Baker has lost the "Best Doctor" category only three times: once to Sylvester McCoy (the Seventh Doctor) in 1990, and twice to David Tennant (the Tenth Doctor) in 2006 and 2009. Doctor's eccentric style of dress and speech Γ’β¬β particularly his trademark long scarf and fondness for jelly babies Γ’β¬β made him an immediately recognisable figure and he quickly captivated the viewing public's imagination. The Doctor travels with journalist Sarah Jane Smith. Imposingly tall, with eyes that seem to constantly boggle, a mass of curls for hair and prominently displayed teeth, the Doctor favours an outfit that usually consists of a shirt, waistcoat, cravat, trousers, a frock coat (with pockets containing a seemingly endless array of apparently useless items that would nevertheless suit the Doctor's purposes when used), a wide-brimmed hat and, most famously, his impractically long, multi-coloured scarf, which was apparently knitted for him by Madame Nostradamus (whom he refers to as a "witty little knitter"). When it is damaged in The Ark in Space, the Doctor declares with regret that it's "irreplaceable." (Isn't Wikipedia wonderful?!) We will make 1 ATC for 1 partner. Use any media you wish: collage, hand drawn/hand painted, mixed media, etc. You may represent the Doctor with his image, his symbols, a quote from him, anything you like. Please avoid making a general ATC since we're going to be making 12 or 13 of these. Standard ATC rules apply: must be 2.5" x 3.5", with a sturdy backing, NOT sticker slapped (although, good luck finding stickers of the Doctor!), with some real thought and effort behind it. Do the Doctor and your fellow Whovians justice please. If you meet the qualifications for being in Whovians United then you meet the qualifications for this swap. I don't anticipate having to ban anyone, but I always reserve that right. I will angel after you have made multiple attempts to contact your partner with no luck (please also copy me those messages) and rated a 1. I don't think that will happen. =) I can't wait to see what we all come up with for the Fourth Doctor! |
