Do you have a pattern of this maple leaf quilt that you can share with us?

bettflow09 07/22/2008 #

Great idea Teardrop:)) How long do the strips need to be?

teardrop 07/22/2008 #

thank you bettflow.

Strips need to be as wide as the fabric on the bolt.

Love the idea of a strip swap. I think of all the jelly roll patterns I have and this would make it SOOOOOO easy. But all those patterns call for strips to be 2 1/2 inches wide. Are'nt most strip patterns using 2 1/2 inch strips?

forsara 08/ 2/2008 #

tammyjean2 is right; can we send 2.5 inch strips if our partner requests it? Thanks.

sewcrazy, your very welcome, I just love this book! I may have to find and buy my own copy! I would love to make a couple more in there too.

tammyjean yes most patterns use 2 1/2, but if we cut them at 3 inches they can be used for a wider range of patterns.

But you may ask your partner when closed if they prefer 2 1/2 or 3 inch strips :)

I've already made up my package of 3inch strips. 3inch strips can also be used for dotees:)

Hi, I'm new to swapbot but my daughter, Jen5253, has been having lots of fun doing several wonderful and creative swaps. I like tradional fabrics like toile, strips, floral. I don't really care for batiks, sports, food, or juvenile themed fabrics. My primary decorating colors are maroon, forest green, with a pinch of pink.

I love all fabrics and will give any fabric a chance -- the only preference I have is 100% cotton.

aernfridh 08/23/2008 #

I also love all fabrics and will give anything a chance...
