Strips need to be as wide as the fabric on the bolt.

Love the idea of a strip swap. I think of all the jelly roll patterns I have and this would make it SOOOOOO easy. But all those patterns call for strips to be 2 1/2 inches wide. Are'nt most strip patterns using 2 1/2 inch strips?

sewcrazy, your very welcome, I just love this book! I may have to find and buy my own copy! I would love to make a couple more in there too.

tammyjean yes most patterns use 2 1/2, but if we cut them at 3 inches they can be used for a wider range of patterns.

But you may ask your partner when closed if they prefer 2 1/2 or 3 inch strips :)

I've already made up my package of 3inch strips. 3inch strips can also be used for dotees:)

tammyjean2 where do you find jellyroll patterns? FYI my preference is for brights, purples,blues, greens, pretty much anything but teadyed. Have fun:)
