Description:

Lately, I’ve been a bit discouraged to swap by the increase of postage cost. I’m trying to find inexpensive but interesting swap to fill my sad mailbox. Not so long ago, I tried making my first Zine and realized it’s pretty cool without being expensive to mail… it’s basically a one stamp swap… YAY!!!

Zine : is most commonly a small circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images usually reproduced via photocopier. A popular definition includes that circulation must be 1,000 or fewer, although in practice the majority are produced in editions of less than 100, and profit is not the primary intent of publication {Wikipedia}

Now, I’m curious to see other people ideas of a Zine but I want to keep this swap stress free and open to all kind of creativity. Therefore, I’m making this swap for “Beginner”. If you are experienced at Zine, you can still join, but expect you may receive that is not your level. Please… Even if you are new to this, put effort into it and make it something you would like to receive.

This Zine has to be an 8 pages zine made from a 8 1/2" x 11" or A4 (for our European friends) paper. Either ¼ page or 1/8 of a page (see videos below for step-by-step) in size. The subject of what’s in the Zine will be sender’s choice and you will have two partners.

Now, to help you, here are a few links:

Wikihow as something on On to Write a Zine to help you with the content.

Here, SamProof made a silly video showing how to fold and assemble a 1/8 of a page Zine. He also has a MS Word Zine Template to help you if you are planning to make your Zine on a computer.

If you would like a shorter video, go to This one from Erica Hart.

For a ¼ of a page Zine instructions on folding and creating in Adobe, go to Mark Rudolph video.

Wikipedia has a lot more info on Zine Origin if ever you are curious about it’s history.

Now the fun part…

Requirements:
• You must have a rating of 4.98+ with no recent no sends;
• No unexplained or recent 1's or 3's or you will be banned (just PM me to discuss as I will not chase anyone before banning);
• You must have at least 10 type 2 (or higher) completed and rated swaps;

Ratings:
• Please rate your partner as soon as envelope is received;
• 5s should be given out based on whether the package meets the swap requirements, NOT whether you like it or not.

I will check profiles before assigning partners and I will ban anyone who seems fishy or that I’m uncomfortable with (my swap, my rules). I might sound harsh but I’m trying to avoid unpleasant experience for good swappers. If any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to PM me (as communication is the key).

23.04.2014 ~ I edited the description to add the possibility of using an A4 size paper for our European friends.
