Description:

By now, most of us have accumulated quite a substantial stack of prints, and if you're like me, there's seemingly no end in sight! So, let's start using our prints in different projects.

For this swap, we'll be using those prints to create a handmade bookmark. Please make sure your bookmark is constructed from a sturdy base, such as cardstock or cardboard. You can either print directly onto that base, or print onto paper and then adhere it to cardstock/cardboard. You aren't restricted to printing on white paper only; feel free to get creative and use any type of paper you wish, as long as your end result is a sturdy bookmark. You may add add rubber stamping, doodling, stenciling, etc., but no chunky or thick embellishments as we want to keep these flat, obviously.

Finish your bookmark by punching a hole at the top and adding a tassel, ribbon, string, or other fibers. You may add beads or charms along the middle and/or ends of your fibers if you wish. An adhesive hole reinforcement added to the back can keep the fibers from ripping through the bookmark. If you feel it's not needed, that's fine, but it wouldn't hurt to add it if you have some on hand.

The details:

  • 1 handmade bookmark for 1 partner
  • Bookmark should measure 6" high x 2" wide and be constructed on a sturdy cardstock or cardboard base
  • String, tassel, ribbon, fibers, etc. to be strung through a hole in the top
  • Sender's choice in color, style, theme, etc.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask here, or shoot me a PM. I am open to tweaking some of the swap details if everyone's on board with proposed changes.

Instead of mounting onto cardstock/board, is it ok if I use my laminating machine to give it a plastic cover, it will still be stiff. (heh, I said stiff). I found that laminating the packing tape prints looks really cool.

Sue, that's just fine! Laminating would make it super durable, so that's an excellent way to go!
