Description:

Create a beautiful bookmark for your partner. It should be roughly between five and seven inches long by one and half to two inches wide. It should be on a relatively firm base so that it will last (card stock, cardboard, etc). You can draw, paint, sew, whatever strikes your fancy. It should be topped with fibers or beads or something that can hang down the spine of the book or stick out the top. Any holes you put in it should have a hole reinforcer around them so that it won't rip when used. Avoid using any three dimensional embellishments so that it won't damage a book when it's being used. This should take you at least half an hour to make, send something you would be excited to receive!

Any questions feel free to comment below or send me a PM :)

Oh I love bookmarks.....thanks for this!

You're welcome :) I just made a whole bunch of them from some of my mono prints and it hit me that they'd be fun to swap.

Mo: I assume that bookmarks like these would not be allowed:

I am not trying to give you a hard time, and it is your swap so you can set the specs any way you like. I am just asking for confirmation.

Thx! (";)

For the most part no, but something like the pink and purple ones would be alright. They are a bit more work because of the sewing. Those would actually be really cute if someone did little felt animals instead! Overall though, I'm thinking something that's a bit more work than the other ones.

FYI, I always appreciate questions on swaps, because if you were wondering, someone else probably was too :)

Thx!

Okay...so if we do want to make something (out of the ordinary when you thin bookmarks), its okay right, as long as we don't just string a few beads together and call it done?

P.S. I think the pink/purple one is an adorable style.

P.S.S. Since I got my Kindle I hardly actually use "real books"...but I still love book markers. In may start collecting them. Hmmmmmm

@Paige1900 yes, out of the ordinary is great, as long as there's some work in it you can do whatever you please :)

I also almost never read actual books anymore, but I still love bookmarks too!

I am going to have to drop this swap...but I will join the next one.
