Description:

I love scavenger hunts and am hosting this one in another group, but thought our group would have fun with it too.

In this swap, each person will pick a 4-letter word that their partner will use to send a 12 inch (30.48 cm) strip of tape for each letter in that word. Please make your word an English language word.

When you sign up for the swap, you will put your 4-letter word below in the comment section. When partners are assigned, you will come back and see what word your partner has chosen, and you will give a 12” tape strip for each letter in their 4-letter word.

For example, if I chose “B-E-A-R” as my word, my partner could send me:

  • B = Blue, Birds, Big Circles...
  • E = Earth, Ebony, ...
  • A = Animals, Aviation (airplanes)...
  • R = Red, Roses, Rain...

You may think “simple" or “outside the box" - - nouns or adjectives.

Are you up for this fun washi challenge?

Minimum joining requirements: No 1s or 3s in the last 8 months.

In the comments section below, I've posted some ways to send tape through the mail.

Here are a few more examples:

  • C = carnation (flower or color), crowns, crows (black birds)...
  • T = typewriters, the number TEN...

A dictionary is always a good resource. :)

As far as sending tape, here are a few ideas.

  • Put clear packing tape on a piece of card stock (or postcard, or a cut-up cereal box or other cardboard food box), then wrap it around it.
  • Look at your local dollar store for "cheap" plastic placemats, or plastic office-type folders. I then cut them up in different sizes, per the size envelope I'm using to send.
  • Wrap wax paper around a thin piece of cardboard, then wrap the tape on the wax paper.
  • Wrap it around something laminated.
  • Wrap it around a plastic transparency sheet.
  • Wrap it around plastic coated playing cards.

Basically you want something waxy, shiny, or "plastic" in nature so it won't stick permanently to it.

I've also seen it on wax paper alone.

I used to use the clear packing tape, but mostly now I either use the dollar store plastic materials or playing cards I find cheap at Goodwill.

My word is "COLD"....hahaha (well, it's not THAT funny I guess.LOL.)

My word is: BIRD

P.S. Please don't stick the washi tapes on wax paper if you are sending to me. The weather here is pretty hot and the washi tape will have wax paper residue when removed ):
