Merry Mail

This is a simple swap to send your partner some merry, or happy, mail!

You will have 1 partner to whom you will send a cheerful greeting card and a letter. You can write directly on the inside of your greeting card or feel free to use separate paper(s). The greeting card should be around 5"x7", which is A7. A little smaller is okay, but not as small as a 3"x4", which in the USA is about a notecard size.

Then slip your greeting card inside an envelope dressed up in an interesting way, either with stickers, a drawing, a painting, a zentangle, stamped images, or pretty tapes. It can be made interesting by simply making it from a beautiful magazine page or some sort of fun paper. The idea is just to make it look pretty and catch your partner's eye as they hold it in their hand amidst a stack of their other mail.

Feel free to enclose a little extra something that would contribute to the merry-ness of the mail, stickers, a blank notecard, a postcard, an ATC, a bookmark, etc. This is not a requirement of the swap, but just an additional idea.

This is an International Swap. Newbies are welcome with a well-filled out Profile. Rated swappers need have no unresolved 1's. Fulfill those unfulfilled swaps first, please. I will go through all swappers and check Profiles.

As a final note, I do Angel my swaps after appropriate ratings are left. So swap with confidence! And have fun!

I like these fun, easy, happy swaps! The world definitely needs more merriment!

I like these type of swaps, too, @ArtyBeth3 ! And yes, the world could always use a little more merriment. :) Thank you for your interest!

Would this be a type 3 as we are "...drawing, a painting, a zentangle, stamped images, or pretty tapes.....simply making it from a beautiful magazine page or some sort of fun paper." These are all crafts. I ask as I need to increase the number of type 3 swaps I am joining.

KarlaKC 09/29/2013 #

Thank you for your question, @transplanted1 . Like you, when I was creating this swap I considered if it should be a Type 2 or Type 3 swap. I settled on Type 2 because I saw little to no craft component in this swap. Yes, some may choose to draw, paint or zentangle, but not everyone will. Some may choose to apply stickers or washi tape and will have no craft component on the swap they send. So perhaps for some it may lean more towards a Type 3 swap, but not for everyone. The Type 2 swaps do allow for a little crafting, according to the FAQs, and is where Flat Mail would generally fall.

I am open to hearing other opinions about what Type swap this swap should fall under. So feel free to discuss it here.

Just a reminder: If you have any 1's from swappers who are still active here on SB, please fulfill those swaps before joining another. I will have to drop you immediately from this swap if you sign up. I want everyone to have fun in this swap and be confident they will receive a swap in return.

Thank you everyone for making this swap part of the Top Ten. I think it made it to #5! :)

I am going through your Profiles today and should have the assignments up by tonight or Monday. So just a little patience and I'll have you a partner shortly. :)

@KarlaKC Thank you for taking the time (and I know it's a lot of it) for going through profiles to make sure you get a good, faithful group of swappers. This should be a fun time for us all :)

I had so much fun doing this!

KarlaKC 10/25/2013 #

That's wonderful @calliedeaner :) I hope everyone has a great experience.

Checking on my participants today, I see one who has not clicked "Sent" yet and has not signed on since 10/15/13. I have PM'd, Commented, and Emailed @Teafortwo to send her swap and will keep up with this swapper. She is supposed to send to @Janine026 . I'm sorry for this hiccup, Janine, and will stay on top of it.

Meanwhile, everyone please rate your partners quickly after you receive. Many participants are sending Internationally, so if you'll rate as soon as you receive, or not too soon afterwards, it will help me immensely to be sure everyone receives from their partner or allow me to send Angels expeditiously so swappers won't have to wait too much longer to receive a swap.
