QnT Hand Embroidered Butterfly Blocks #8

September 1 thru September 30 = 2 BLOCKS this month

Since I have been so busy with life getting in the way of my swapping I thought we’d combine August and September so we can get back on track.

--one partner each month

--two 6 ½” (or larger) embroidered butterfly blocks

One partner should receive from you 2 blocks that are at least 6 ½ inches square and have at least one butterfly on each block. Blocks should be on plain white background or on white on white print background. You may add other things with your butterfly as long as you have at least one butterfly on each block and only use the color options for that month. Feel free to make multiple butterflies on one block.

Be sure to fill up as much of the 6 ½” block as possible leaving at least a ¼” seam allowance around the outside.

FIRST BLOCK: (was labeled as August but will be sent in September) = a multi-colored butterfly or butterflies (this block can be as many colors as you want and you can put as many butterflies on the block as you can get)

SECOND BLOCK: September = teal, aqua or turquoise or all three on one block (you may make the butterfly all one color or a combo of all three colors)

I will be posting the last 3 swaps in this series as well so we can be sure to get ‘em done. I am totally enjoying this series of swaps and want to apologize for letting “stuff” get in our way!

Please note that I have given permission to someone else to do some BLUEWORK swaps and their first swap will be a BLUEWORK butterfly project. I am excited about her swaps and will be joining them as well as doing this series.

October = orange and or peach and or cream butterfly (you may use one or all three colors on this block)

November = black butterfly

December = red, green, blue and gold butterfly (be sure to use all four colors in some way on the block – either one red, one green, one blue and one gold butterfly, or a combination of all four on one butterfly)

Enjoy!

Have been using these with the Attic Window Quilt Block, they work well and pretty too
