Description:

I participated in this swap a few years ago and really enjoyed it, so I am having a go at creating my own.

This is the first round of an International swap for anyone looking for a inexpensive yet interesting swap!

Give someone else a glimpse into your life!

Your days may seem boring to you, but they are certainly going to be interesting to another person.

How would you introduce yourself to someone else in pictures? Now's your chance to find out. Each day for a week, you will take 1 digital photo of things that would describe you as a person.

It could be of somewhere/someone you see, what you do, where you go..etc during an average week in your life. This can be a photograph of your breakfast, the view from your bedroom window, a self portrait, where you work.. the possibilties are endless!

You will send your partner:

  • one email containing 7 photographs in total (1 for each day of the week)

  • a brief description of each photograph including the date it was taken. Please rename the title of each photograph to the date it was taken, for example 'Saturday 2nd Feb'. Then in the e-mail please write the date of the photographs and the description: Saturday 2nd Feb - Me and my dog! etc

  • Please also include a short paragraph introducing yourself to your partner. If you're unsure of what to write, try: Your name, What you do for a living (Student? Full time parent? Work?), Whether you had a good/bad week and why.

  • Photographs can be taken with digital camera/mobile phone/ipad, but they MUST BE TAKEN BY YOU (no downloading someone else's stuff and calling it your own). Photos can be in colour or black and white, it is sender's choice.

  • Please don't forget to write the name of the swap and your username within the email. This helps your partner rate you correctly.

I don't think I need to say it but no nudity or vulgar photos and no photographs of children's faces please.

No Newbies with less than 5 swaps completed with no ratings or less than 5 ratings. No recent 1's or 3's for whatever reason. I will ban people if need be.

ENJOY

Can the photos be put into a word doc? Seven photos can be tough to send in an email - love the swap though! ;)

Mine will go in a word doc - easier! Great swap, but as a teacher it may be hard to avoid the faces of children. Can I just blur them out in the photo?

danushaj 02/ 2/2013 #

@Vickyen yes word doc is perfectly fine, most people possess that and PDF on their computers these days, phones can even handle those file formats too.

@kgeslab yes blurring is fine or concealing faces, that is what I would do.

I will have five by the end of today..... does that qualify me? I would so love to participate in this swap :) Pictures are my passion and I share them all the time. I love documenting things, so this would be perfect fun :)

I can't open Word Documents, so if possible, please send mine as a normal e-mail. I have a Mac and to open Word documents, I should purchase a program for it.

Love the idea of this swap and can't wait to take a peek into my partner's lives (and possible rediscover something about my own!)

I have Mac as well. If you install OpenOffice at openoffice.org (totally free), it will read all Microsoft applications.
