Description:

This is a nice, simple postcard swap. Either draw, sketch, or paint something "Luck" or "Lucky" themed (four leaf clovers, horse shoes, waving cats, rainbows, rabbit feet, Chinese dragons, acorns, ladybugs, etc, or maybe something that is personally lucky for you) on the front and write a nice note on the back – if you did something personally lucky, please explain it. That's it! Please no photograph or collage cards, also while I love Zentangle and doodling, this swap is for drawings of actual (or imagined) things (a person, group, place, animal, scene, object, or still life, etc.), not abstract designs. Please, take your time and put a little effort into your drawing/painting, there is no need to rush, you will have two weeks to make and mail your postcard after partners have been assigned.

Please send your card naked (stamped, written on, no envelope).

The easiest way to make a handmade postcard is to take an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of card stock (120lb is perfect) and cut it into quarters to make four(4) 4.25 x 5.5 inch cards. You will only need one for this swap, so you can save the others for future swaps!

I've never had a complaint about the card stock going through the mail, but if you want to use a different weight paper or to make a different size card, please make sure it will go through the post; the USPS site for postcard standards is here at the USPS site (click on the 'Rules & Restrictions' tab). International swappers, please check with your local postal service to verify proper postcard sizes and postage, but size restrictions are likely to be similar.

As with any swap, please don't forget to write “swap bot”, the group name, the swap name, and your user name somewhere on the card so your partner knows who to rate!
