Description:

I am a Washi tape addict and I still want some more!!! For those who don't know what Washi tape is..... The word washi comes from the Japanese words for “Japanese” and “paper.” Japanese masking tape is a wonderful invention for arts and craft projects. (This is not the deco tape that is more like Scotch tape.) The great things about washi tapes:

  1. Removable and you can easily re-position them.
  2. You can tear them by hand, no scissors needed.
  3. You can write on them or use rubber stamps to stamp a desired pattern over them.
  4. You can layer them for different effects.

They can be for scrapbooking, card making, packaging, any paper crafts, make cupcake toppers with them, decorate clear plastic or glass vases/containers, or any other projects you can think of.

I want everyone to get a good variety of tape. If you participate in this swap you will buy 2 rolls (different designs) 15mm wide (1.5 cm) x 10 m (30 ft) long then you can have enough to share with 2 partners and have plenty of each left over for you. If you don't have some full rolls of tape already, then go over to Etsy.com and do a search for Washi tape. You will find hundreds of listings for the tape and most come out to around $3. each plus shipping. Order two of your favorite tape designs now so that you have them in time for mailing to your partners!!! THIS IS NOT FOR HOMEMADE WASHI... MUST BE STOREBOUGHT. For this swap... don't use the tissue tape from Target, the Tim Holtz brand or the Recollections brand from Michael's. This needs to be the Washi tape that you find sold as "Washi tape".
When the sign up deadline is over you will be assigned 2 partners. You will send each partner 5 FEET of BOTH tapes. So in total 10 feet of tape to each partner.

Send your Washi to your partners wrapped around either- a tongue depressor, popsicle stick, small pencil, wooden spools or scrabble tile. You may wrap BOTH tapes around the same pencil/tongue depressor. Package them well so they don't break through the packaging (like in a bubble envelope, sturdy manilla envelope or small box

Only those who have a 4.8 or better rating. No recent unexplained 1's or 3's. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE AT LEAST 5 COMPLETED #3 SWAPS!! I WILL BE CHECKING!

If you have questions please ask!!! (picture from Le Box Boutique on Etsy)

Is this only for japanese washi tape, or can we include Chugoku (chinese washi tape) also?

soyprincesa2 07/17/2012 #

I ordered my Washi tape two days ago and I have some gorgeous patterns arriving! I can't wait to share!!! These are going to take my mail art to another level!

I need wooden spool...

Swap was edited so that you don't have to use a wooden spool. Other suggestions are listed.
