Description:

This swap is inspired by @heidivee who unfortunately is no longer able to coordinate the swap. With her permission I am creating a similar swap and hope that we will have a great turnout!

The goal of this swap is to have some great photography to frame and display in your home. I am opening it up to international swapping so that we may get lucky enough to get spectacular photos from abroad. The item should be professionally printed on photo paper, not home printed on copier paper. The photos should be something you are proud to share and would display in your home. I'm not restricting it to a theme, the photograph can be any subject matter. If the photo could be considered offensive please check with your partner first, we don't want to offend anyone.

For this swap you will have 1 partner in which you will mail a print of your best photo. The photo must be either 5x7 or 8x10. the finish (glossy or matte) is sender's choice however if you have a preference on which finish you prefer please add it to your profile and let your swap partner know as soon as possible as some people choose to send out their swaps early. If there is a miscommunication on finish type do not rate based on that since finish is ultimately sender's choice.

Pack the photo so it does not get bent or crinkled in the mail. I intend to create one of these swaps monthly for as long as it goes.

Newbies welcome. Flakers will be banned. Please no recent 1's or unexplained 3's in the last 60 days. I will be checking profiles.

I'm so happy I've found such an attractive swap! One question, though: should we order matter or glossy prints? Personally, I have always preferred (and printed) matte, yet since these pics are to be quite big, I wonder whether that won't change the matter. I've recently printed one photo (~ 5x7 inches) and got a bit different one from the small (~ 4x6 inches) mattes. I don't even know how to explain. Well, what do you guys think about it? If we're to frame our received photos, maybe glossy isn't such a good idea as it shines after all... ??

I have seen different opinions on this, I prefer matte myself but I have both types framed and both look okay. I think it could be sender's choice but if you prefer to have one over the other maybe we can have members check profiles before sending.

I have added information on finish type for the swap. I am leaving it sender's choice but if you have a strong preference I urge you to list it in your profile and communicate it as soon as possible to your partner.

Nah, it's ok, I'll just state here (once more) that I prefer matte, but if my partner decides otherwise, so be it - I'm not that sure myself. ;) Already looking forward to the assigning partners date. ;D

I feel like the only person here who has her dumb questions, but... should we or should we not add our signature on the photo? We're kind of sharing our art here for people to maybe hang on their walls and show to their guests (or not ;)), so should we give ourselves a credit for that somehow?

It is fine to sign your photography. I believe every artist has the right to sign their work in anyway they see fit. Hope this helps!

Hello everyone! Here's the link to my blog entry. It shows the picture I choose to send to my partner for this swap. Happy viewing!
