Description:

Here's the idea: Think through your vocabulary... And pick your FAVORITE word. It can be your favorite because you like the meaning, because you like the way it sounds, or just because you like it. You will write out your favorite word, with it's pronunciation, part of speech, and all it's meanings in dictionary format (example follows) on a post card. Then you will send it to one lucky partner.

Sternutation: \ˌstər-nyə-ˈtā-shən\ noun The act or noise of sneezing.

This is a wonderful idea for a postcard swap! Love it!

Where can I buy postcards? I've only ever found postcards when I'm on vacation. Do they sell them at Walmart, Walgreens, Target, etc.?

I'd love to join but won't be able to send over the holidays, so hope you'll host a round 2 ^.^

The deadline to send isn't until January 7th! But, since apparently this is going to be popular... I will probably host another one!

I've found post cards at walgreens, gas stations, book stores... Random places.

Is it ok if I print mine out? I have horrible handwriting!!! It's on a 4X6 index card and super awesome!!

@BassClarinetNerd yes, you can find postcards at some Walmarts and Walgreens. Sometimes CVS. Usually the touristy cities/towns will offer them somewhere in town. Whenever I'm down in Savannah, I will pick some up in the shops. But another great source is book sellers like Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble who sell postcard books. They are books full of postcards that you tear out and use. Then there are postcard sellers on the internet. You could just search for "postcards" in your favorite search engine. Hope this helps!

You can make your own PC by printing out an image on your computer on Cardstock. Or glue regular computer paper to stiff box board like a cereal box. Or you can send a photograph as a PC. In all cases, just make sure any glued layers are glued right to the edge to avoid jamming postal machines. I like to rubber stamp and colour my own PCs. I'd join but the dates don't work. Round 2?? :)

A postcard went out to my partner in today's mail. Hope you enjoy my word!
