Last day to signup/drop:December 17, 2011

Number of swap partners:1
Description:

For this swap we will make our partner 3 stars. But not just any ordinary stars. These will be stars of awesomeness!

You will make stars that your partner can hang from their ceiling, or attach to their walls. Therefore, both sides of the stars must be decorated. Add some pizazz to those suckers! Use glitter, ribbon, fun paper, brads, fur, bling, anything your heart desires. Also remember to include a hanging mechanism.

One of the stars must be around 6 inches. The other 2 stars can be smaller or the same size as the big one. Basically you are shooting for stars of various sizes. Maybe you like skinny stars, or fat stars, or stars that are more unique...either way is perfectly fine.

Since some partners may hang the stars you may want to add something sturdy to keep the star from falling in on itself.

Okay, I hope that made sense. If you've got questions, I've got answers!

I love crafts like this! ...Papery things that are not the usual ATCs, postcards, etc. And I don't do greeting cards or rolos. I see so many great possibilities for 'shooting stars'! I am being cautious by putting this on my watch list, instead of joining right away, though, because of Christmas and the fact that I have a fairly involved project going right now. Also I 'don't' join international swaps, due to living on a small fixed income, although for this I may make an exception.

As far as sturdiness and 'not falling in on itself', I guess you mean strong enough not to have the points start sagging and bending. If I do join, I will probably make mine out of corrugated cardboard as a base to cover and add to...

Yes Wanda, that is exactly what I was thinking. You just happened to put it a bit more less confusing than me :P lol

If you end up not joining later, I would still be more than happy to do a private swap with you for this one! I am falling in love with hanging things like this around my bedroom or on my walls :)

Super neat swap.

I too think this is a fantastic swap but am going to put on my "watch" list for now because the holidays can end up being hectic and I don't want to over extend myself with projects. Could you maybe extend the send by date?

PenguinParade 12/12/2011 #

Oops sorry, I didn't see this @greenraisin I would be happy to extend the date if it would allow more people to join :)

Edited it to send by of January 18-giving us a month. How's that?

So cool! Thanks for the extension!
