Description:

Since the holiday season is approaching very quickly, I thought we could do a simple little card to remember the winter holiday. :)

The element you will need to include on your card is a Yule/Christmas tree. Please be mindful that your partner may not celebrate Christmas, so be sure to read profiles to know if you are creating a Yule/Winter Solstice tree or a Christmas tree

You will have 1 partner and make 1 card.

Easy peasy!

I'd like to enter this but everything I've seen with regards to a Yule Tree pulls up references and imagery for Christmas Trees, indicating that they're pretty much the same thing...with a different name or meaning behind the same symbolism. Help?

I think they are pretty much the same thing but a Yule tree is usually decorated with natural things like nuts, dried fruit slices, twig stars and so on but not Santas and Snowmen. I think. But maybe someone else will have more ideas about this. I do believe if someone celebrated Yule as a Pagan Sabbat they would be happy with a tree decorated with natural elements but I think it can still have sparkle and shine as well. Try looking up Yule Sabbat.

The Yule Tree (as I know it) came from Iceland ~ it was decorated with candles and little bags (pouches) that held candy for the kids when the candles went out. I can't remember exactly how long the candles burned but I seem to remember it being Christmas Eve.

YIKES, . . don't know why my comment posted 3 times but I apologize!!!

So it really is quite like a more traditional German Tannenbaum then. OK. Honestly, we decorate with simple glass ornaments and cranberry, things like that - not snowmen or santas. I just wanted to be sure before I royally screwed something up and offended someone unwittingly. Thanks! :)
